Amazon is developing its own game streaming service

Report: Amazon is developing its own game streaming service

The Information got the scoop, reporting on two independent sources who are close to the plans that state that Amazon is developing a cloud gaming service. Gaming has proven to be a hard nut to crack for would-be streaming providers, though, with several companies trying their hand to varying degrees success over the past few years. Sony's PlayStation Now service is already up and running, and charges players $99.99 a year for access to more than 700 games. Now, Amazon may want to start its very own game-streaming service, too.

Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Google, and Nvidia are all getting into the game streaming business with an increased sense of urgency and Amazon has a lot going for it.

It's also possible Amazon could make a Fire games console specifically for the service.

First off, Amazon's service would probably be something along the lines of Google's Project Stream. Rather, Amazon can use computing resources from its powerful cloud servers to run games.

She has also been seen out and about over the past couple of weeks, which would be unlikely if she were pregnant. Charlotte goes to Willcocks Nursery School, while George goes to Thomas's London Day School in Battersea.

While Amazon has said nothing official as of yet, rumours abound from several sources that the online retail giant is already in talks with several publishers, and there's even talk of a view to release as soon as 2020.

Prime members also receive some in-game perks. With the introduction of such game-streaming services, we may finally able to bid adieu those ultra-expensive gaming consoles. Amazon has plenty of experience streaming video and music, and it has a bigger presence in gaming than you might expect. On one hand it just cancelled its first project Breakaway back in April of past year, but on the other a move into the streaming side makes sense - the company certainly has the server capabilities and Amazon might want to stay neck-and-neck with the other big tech companies working on streaming.

It's unknown how much Amazon will charge for its new cloud gaming service.

It's hard to know outright what Amazon is doing in the games space.
