Turkey investigating all dimensions of Saudi journalist's case, Erdoğan says

Turkish daily names Saudis in Khashoggi case, raising pressure on...

Twenty-two United States senators on Wednesday forced a USA investigation of whether human rights sanctions should be imposed over the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist last seen as he entered the Saudi consulate in Turkey on October 2. His fiancée, waiting outside, said he never emerged and Turkish sources said they believe Khashoggi, a prominent critic of Saudi policies, was killed inside the mission.

A USA intelligence source told the New York Times that US intelligence had intercepted communications of Saudi agents discussing a plot to either capture or kill Khashoggi. The Saudi government has become a closer ally under Trump and some lawmakers warn that relations could be jeopardized if it turns out the kingdom was involved in his disappearance. Saudi Arabia may have agreed to the search in order to reassure its Western allies and the worldwide community. Unlike Trump, Obama had few kind words for the Saudi government, often attacking its history of human rights abuses and its role in funding jihadist terrorism.

A former Saudi government advisor, Khashoggi has been openly critical of Prince Mohammed, accusing him of introducing a new era of "fear, intimidation, arrests and public shaming". There is no footage that shows him leaving, they said.

Saudi Arabia's top leadership ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Turkish officials said according to an explosive new report by The New York Times.

She wrote: 'Although his opinions had angered certain people, he said, the tensions between himself and Saudi Arabia did not amount to hate, grudges or threats.

Saudi Arabia has called the charge that it killed or kidnapped Khashoggi "baseless", but has provided no evidence that he left the consulate.

During an October 9 interview with CNN's Don Lemon, Boot was extremely critical of Trump's anemic response to Khashoggi's disappearance-declaring, "This administration can not sweep this under the rug".

It takes her AMA tally to 23, beating Whitney Houston's 19 to make her the most successful female artist at the awards. Migos were acknowledged as the favourite duo in the Pop/Rock category, while Mendes won the Adult Contemporary Artist.

The revelation of the detailed operation has sparked speculation that the plan to kill him at the consulate may have been a backup plan. If (Trump) is not reading MBS, the crown prince, the riot act, he is being derelict in his duty.

USA intelligence intercepted communications between Saudi officials discussing a plan to capture journalist Jamal Khashoggi prior to his disappearance last week in Turkey in a case now roiling global investigators and threatening to damage relations between Washington and Riyadh. If true, this is a tragic day.

A human rights activist holds picture of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi during a protest outside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey October 9, 2018. "I very much doubt we could pass another one", Corker said.

President Donald Trump says the U.S.is "demanding" answers and wants to bring his fiancee to the White House.

The Saudi government has denied any involvement in Mr. Khashoggi's disappearance. Saudi Arabia, a Sunni Muslim power, is also annoyed by Ankara's rapprochement with the kingdom's Shiite archrival, Iran. "They played him like a dolt".

Turkey has backed Qatar in its dispute with Saudi Arabia and its neighbors. "Jared Kushner is so close to MBS. It's a bad thing", Trump said. He completely collapsed, caved in to it.

Members of Congress have grown increasingly insistent in recent days that the administration get to the bottom of the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi, a writer for The Washington Post. "This is an outrage, and MBS has to be not just called out, but has to be shunned by the world community if, in fact, he's doing this to Washington Post columnists".
