Eddies Ace Peppers The Flag At British Masters

The 27-year-old from Oxford started the day with a three-shot lead and ended it ahead by the same margin thanks to a rock-solid one-under-par 71.

Matt Wallace goes into today's final 18 holes of the Sky Sports British Masters five shots off the lead after a frustrating third round at Walton Heath.

France's Julien Guerrier was also five under with three holes to go when play was suspended due to darkness.

Pepperell was only two in front after he reeled off six pars in a row, but had more breathing space when he sunk a 14-foot putt for an eagle three at 11. I feel like there's a lot more for me in terms of that department.

Pepperell was ranked outside the world's top 500 as recently as May previous year, but won his maiden European Tour title in Qatar in February and followed a runners-up finish in the Scottish Open with a tie for sixth in the Open seven days later, carding a closing 67 at Carnoustie despite being hungover.

'I played terrible in the pro-am on Wednesday, probably the worst I have in a while and wouldn't say I played great today but had that really hot run and it's great to be at the top.' Fleetwood's own round was not without incident, with his only bogey of the day coming after an errant tee shot on the par-three 17th finished in a cup holder in a buggy which had been parked to the left of the green.

Steelers Still Haven't Heard From Le'Veon Bell
Further complicating matters is that Pittsburgh has a bye in Week 7, which means Bell may not be in any rush to come back. Bell was scheduled to make roughly $14.5 million this year after being franchise-tagged by the Steelers this offseason.

A victory would take Pepperell into the world's top 35 and nearly certainly secure a Masters debut in 2019.

"Last week I felt absolutely fine, honestly. If I can achieve that tomorrow, I'll be happy".

The hole-in-one, which was captured and shared to Twitter by the European Tour, won him $20,000 of which he plans to donate to charity, Golf Digest reported.

Francesco Molinari, who is the current leader of the European Tour's Race to Dubai, birdied his first two holes of the day but fell away as he finished 1 over for the day. "But I'm confident that I can go out there tomorrow and shoot three, four under par and make everyone else's life very hard".

Tournament host Justin Rose safely made the halfway cut after a 72 left him on two over par.
