Koepka leads, Tiger lurks as PGA final-round drama begins

How Adam Scott got his groove back at PGA Championship

Open Championship runner-up Kisner holed six birdies as he played his first nine holes in 29 shots to move into the lead on nine under, while Woodland avenged a bogey on the 14th with an eagle three on the par-five 17th.

Woods, a 14-time major and 4-time PGA champion shot his lowest final-round in a major ever with a six-under 64 that electrified crowds all day.

"7:30 this morning it was a packed house on the 10th tee", Australian golfer Adam Scott said Friday.

Koepka opened birdie-birdie to grab the lead after Woodland made bogey at the second but Woodland birdied the third hole to pull level on 10-under.

At four under par Spieth ended the day eight off the lead and Rory McIlroy's hopes of ending his major drought also vanished after a 71 left him 10 behind.

Players try to downplay it, and I've downplayed it over the years myself because you're trying to downplay it yourself a little bit, but it's a pretty intense environment out there. With a victory, Woods would match Jack Nicklaus and Walter Hagen with a record five PGA titles and qualify to play in next month's Ryder Cup in France.

Rosenstein appointed Mueller after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation. Stone said that he was "highly confident she will testify truthfully if called upon to do so".

Despite the long, hot day, Tiger was feeling the love from the St. Louis crowd. Woods shot a 64 Sunday, but it wasn't enough to overcome the victor. It's a major championship. He did well to advance it, but had to save par from a bunker.

She accompanied Koepka as he walked off the 18th hole as the event champion. "And when a guy's doing that and hitting it straight, and as good a putter as he is, it's tough to beat".

However, Woods has so far struggled to produce his best form at the business end of tournaments - often fading over the closing holes in contrast to the ruthless finishes he was famed for at his peak.

Koepka joked about working out in a public gym this week with Dustin Johnson and not being recognised. He has been motivated by more serious moments, from being left off the "notable scores" section of TV coverage at tournaments and even last week, when he was not summoned for a TV interview to preview the PGA Championship. And with the FedEx Cup Playoffs approaching, Tiger has the golf world on notice.

After another errant drive on the 14th, the four-time PGA Championship victor suffered a costly bogey. He shot 68 and tied for sixth.

In many ways, this felt like old times for the 42-year-old - he of the multiple back surgeries who couldn't swing a club a few years back, but has now contended on the back nine in consecutive majors, only to come up short, more agonizingly so this time than at Carnoustie three weeks ago. I thought I played really clean cards, really clean rounds.
