Thousands take to London's streets to protest at Trump visit

Donald Trump visit to UK

May is facing a rebellion by Brexit hardliners over the proposals, including the resignation of Johnson and Brexit minister David Davis this week, although moderates and big businesses have been supportive.

Trump came down firmly on the side of the Brexiteers, saying what May proposed would hurt the chances of a future trade deal between the UK and the United States.

"Whatever you do is OK with us, just make sure we can trade together, that's all that matters".

Trump has so far appeared unfazed by the expected protests.

Fresh from a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit where Trump chided Germany and other European nations for failing to contribute enough to defense spending, British Prime Minister Theresa May is hoping his trip will boost the close ties between their two nations and help forge a future free trade deal.

He also said he might speak to Boris Johnson, who quit as foreign secretary over May's plans for a business-friendly Brexit which was only agreed by her Cabinet last Friday after two years of wrangling.

But he praised Mrs May as a "very tough negotiator" and described her as an "incredible woman" who is "doing a fantastic job".

"I would have done it much differently. All of these things are evident in Trump's policies and this is our opportunity to protest against them", she added.

However, while Trump and May exchanged warm words, tens of thousands of protesters marched against the USA president through central London, bringing much of the British capital to a standstill.

Trump also said former foreign minister Boris Johnson, who resigned this week in protest over the plan, would make "a great prime minister".

First Lady Melania Trump (centre) joined the prime minister's husband Philip May (second right), on a visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, and took questions from school children.

Twitter's Purge on Dormant Accounts Swings On "Big Wigs"
As per the latest figures on Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account, around 7.22 million Twitter users are following the young leader. Prominent people and celebrities have started noticing the drop in followership.

Interestingly, older people are more likely to think Mr Trump was wrong to express his opinions on Brexit, but young people are more likely to think that Britain would be unwise to trust him in trade negotiations. "He obviously likes me, and says very good things about me", Trump said.

"I'd like to see them be able to work it out so it could go quickly", he said. He added, "I think he is a great representative for your country".

President Donald Trump once again falsely claimed he "predicted" Brexit.

However, the president also suggested that the dispute with Khan was personal and that the mayor had shown disrespect to him by allowing a 20-foot "Trump Baby" balloon - an orange likeness of Trump wearing a diaper - to fly over London protests during the president's visit. "But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?" I used to love London as a city. I haven't been there in a long time.

The president arrived in the United Kingdom on Thursday but is largely circumventing the capital and the massive protests against him.

Trump conflated immigration and terrorism in the interview, and he said that Khan, London's mayor, had done a "terrible job".

"I cherish the special relationship with the United States and the many Americans who contribute to our city", posted Khan, London's first Muslim mayor.

London endured four terrorists attacks in 2017.

"I think she is a nice person".

"To say the president called us "fake news" with any serious intent is, well. fake news".

"I don't think it will kill the deal". "If you really look, she probably went the opposite way".
