Mueller plans to call 35 witnesses in Paul Manafort trial

Manafort spent $18,000 on karaoke equipment for his house in the Hamptons report

Manafort was initially ordered to remain under house arrest as he awaited trial, but U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who is presiding over the case in the District of Columbia, sent him to jail in June after prosecutors flagged evidence that Manafort had been trying to influence the testimony of potential witnesses.

Prosecutors claim that Mr Manafort, who ran the USA president's election campaign for five months, hid more than $30 million of that sum in offshore accounts to evade taxes.

The trial is a major test for Mueller's team, which is facing a fresh onslaught of attacks from President Donald Trump and Republicans, who are using lies and exaggerations to blast Mueller and his investigators as biased against the president.

Mr. Manafort said the exhibits were prejudicial and irrelevant to the case.

Paul Manafort is scheduled to go to trial on Tuesday in Alexandria, Virginia, on charges relating to money laundering stemming from Ukrainian political consulting.

Rockets reach deal with center Capela
The 24-year-old big man will make $18M per season, virtually the same amount the Chicago Bulls paid Zach LaVine and Jabari Parker. They'll have some work to do if they want to reach that point again this season, but the two stars are ready to run it back.

On Monday, prosecutors said in court filings that they meant to prove Manafort earned more than $60 million lobbying for the former pro-Russia Ukrainian government and failed to report "a significant percentage" of that. Giuliani said he and Jay Sekulow, another Trump lawyer, had told the president: "This would be a very bad thing to do now". They claim that the executive, who was not identified by prosecutors in court documents, had approved Manafort's allegedly fraudulent applications for $16 million in loans while also seeking Manafort's help with securing roles on the Trump campaign and in the Trump administration.

Unlike his former colleague Rick Gates, Mr Manafort has not co-operated with the special counsel investigation. The charges largely pre-date the five months when Manafort worked on Trump's campaign in 2016.

His trial is expected to be lengthy.

Manafort faces a second criminal trial in Washington in September on related charges, including witness tampering, in connection with lobbying work he performed for the pro-Russia Ukrainian government.
