During an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity following the President's historic summit in Singapore Tuesday, Trump weighed in on his harsh rhetoric surrounding the Korean leader; saying he "hated" calling Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man" but "had no choice".

A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry said during a weekly briefing with reporters Monday that Iran views the Trump-Kim summit with "great pessimism", the Times of Israel reports.

The president said he and Kim "got along very well" from "the beginning" of the summit.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is denying claims the that US lacks the technical expertise to denuclearize North Korea.

After a reporter claimed Vice President Mike Pence said military exercises with South Korea would continue contrary to President Donald Trump's declaration they would end, Pence's spokespeople immediately argued that was false. I really believe that. "Plus, I think it's very provocative".

While the Singapore agreement calls for a "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", the term CVID is glaringly absent.

The two leaders concluded their Tuesday meeting by signing an agreement that acknowledges progress in their talks.

Stephen Pomper, US program director at the Crisis Group, said Trump had sown confusion by announcing the end of drills without first checking with the South Koreans.

Trudeau on Trump: we support North Korea efforts, won't engage on comments
Margaret Wente: Donald Trump has finally made us mad. "I own that, that was my mistake, my words", the trade adviser said. Administration which do a disservice to bilateral relations and will fail to resolve this trade dispute".

"We will be stopping the war games, which will save us a tremendous amount of money, unless and until we see the future negotiation is not going along like it should", Trump said.

Panetta pointed to previous USA administrations that tried to negotiate with Pyongyang, but failed to make the deals stick.

The comments come just hours after President Trump met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un in Singapore.

"His country has to be denuked, and he understood that, he fully understood it", Trump said. "He didn't fight it".

Former Trump adviser and Fox News contributor Sebastian Gorka ― who called North Korea an "evil, evil regime" less than a year ago, called the summit "stunning, absolutely stunning". "It's possible. We're dealing at a high level, a lot of things can change a lot of things are possible", Trump told him.

Trump also made a point to say American college student Otto Warmbier - who died past year after being imprisoned by the North Koreans for 15 months - "did not die in vain".

But US officials told AFP they were taken aback by the news, and Pentagon personnel spent the morning in meetings discussing what could amount to an epic shift in the US military's posture in South Korea.
